Jeff Foiles

Jeff Foiles, a former ironworker, has turned a hobby into a successful business. Spectacular is about the only way to describe the past three years for Jeff Foiles, a dedicated Mississippi River duck and goose hunter and longtime Calhoun county resident. Foiles' unique brand of calls has captured the ears of the professional calling world with two world goose calling championships won on his Strait Meat Honker goose call and scores of regional, state and local calling contests on his duck, goose and, sandhill crane calls. Jeff started hunting at the early age of 6 years old beginning his 41 year love for waterfowl hunting and a successful career in the hunting call industry. Jeff started guiding hunters early in his career, traveling across the United States and Canada doing what he loved. Jeff started on the calling circuit in early 1990, winning many championships. Some of Jeff’s most coveted titles include 2003 World All Around Duck and Goose Calling Championship by winning a combination of Speckelbelly Snow Goose, Canada Goose and Duck calling, the 2004 WCA World Championship Goose Calling Contest and, his most recent title, the Keystone Regional Duck Calling Contest. In 1991 Jeff put together his first call. This was the beginning of the championship line of Strait Meat Duck and Goose Calls followed by the Strait Meat Honker and Strait Meat Mallard Calls. With the realistic tones of both patented calls, they were an instant success in the field and on the stage of the waterfowl seminars and shows Jeff worked across the country. Now, with a complete line of acrylic, wood, polycarbonate calls, videos, and waterfowl accessories, Foiles Migrators, Inc. is a world renowned company. In 2003, the Foiles Migrators line of Strait Meat calls won the crown that no other call maker has obtained by winning two World Goose Calling Championships and two World Duck calling Championships in one year. In 2004 his success continued with winning the 2004 WCA World Championship Goose Calling Contest and the 2005 Keystone Regional Duck Calling Contest. Foiles has also joined forces with Bill Jordan of Realtree to produce a series of waterfowl videos and instructional DVDs. Foiles Migrators is a leader in the industry. In 2004, Foiles Migrators broke ground on a new building site and retail showroom in order to accommodate the growth of the company. Today Jeff has also added the D&J Strait Meat Duck Club, offering 110 acres in the Del Air Refuge and the mighty Mississippi River where hunters can enjoy a waterfowl haven. After just two years, D&J has had record kills of migrating ducks in Illinois. Jeff’s son Cole is already following in his dad’s footsteps by winning several Junior Duck and Goose Calling Championships.
